Common questions
How do I get Freeware?
Freeware is by invitation. Ask a friend who uses SME AIoT for an invite link and sign up from it. Each link works once and is valid for 30 days.
Every Freeware user can send 2 invite links, and every paid user 5. When your friend adds their first device you get +25K data points that month; when your friend buys any paid plan you get +7 days on your plan. No invite? Start with the Student Project Pass or Starter.
Is this a subscription?
No. You pay once for the term you choose and nothing renews on its own. We do not store card details. You get a reminder before your plan ends.
What is a data point?
Each value your device sends. An upload with temperature, humidity, pressure and voltage is 4 data points. The device name (such as device_id) and the time are not counted, and neither are commands you send to the device.
How often can my device send data?
As often as every second, on every plan. Logging speed is the same for everyone; your monthly data points are the only limit. Each value counts as one data point, so sending more often, or more values in each upload, uses them sooner.
What happens if I run out of data points?
New readings pause until your data points renew: at the start of the next month, or on a 2-week Starter, when you start your next term. Your devices, dashboards and stored data stay as they are, and commands to devices keep working. You get a warning at 80% and 95%.
To keep going straight away, add a Data Boost (+1M for ₹149 or +5M for ₹599) or move to a longer plan.
What happens when my plan ends?
Plans of 3 months or longer: 7 more days at full limits, then 7 days read-only.
2-week, 1-month and Student passes: 1 more day at full limits, then 3 days read-only.
After that your account moves to Freeware limits. Nothing is deleted: older data and anything over the Freeware limits is kept and comes back as soon as you buy a plan again.
I already have a yearly Starter plan. Does my price change?
No. You keep the price you paid and the limits you bought (for example 12 devices) until your plan ends. When you buy again, the new Starter applies: 8 devices, with +5 more as an add-on.
Who can buy the Student Project Pass?
Any student with a valid student ID, for their own project. It gives the same Starter for 30 days at ₹999 (a month of Starter is ₹1,500) and can be bought again. For a whole class, an Education Pool is better value.
Can a class share one account?
Freeware, Starter and the Student pass are for one person. For classes, use an Education Pool: one pool for the institution, with a seat for every student.
Can I upgrade partway through?
Yes. The new limits apply straight away and the new term starts from that day. Data points you have used carry over.
How do I pay?
UPI, net banking, debit cards and credit cards. No payment details are kept on file.
